Critically acclaimed crime thriller 'you need to watch immediately' finally hits Netflix - and is hailed as 'a masterpiece'
A critically acclaimed crime thriller 'you need to watch immediately' finally hits Netflix - and is hailed as 'a masterpiece'. The TV show, Sneaky Pete, hit our screens on the streaming service Amazon Prime Video back in 2015. The streaming service's synopsis reads: 'A con man (Giovanni Ribisi) on the run from a vicious gangster (Bryan Cranston) takes cover from his past by assuming the identity of his prison cellmate, Pete, "reuniting" with Pete's estranged family, a colorful, dysfunctional group that threatens to drag him into a world just as dangerous as the one he's trying to escape - and, just maybe, give him a taste of the loving family he's never had.' The series aired 30 episodes over three successful series until 2019. It stars Giovnni Ribisi as Marius Josipović / Pete Murphy, Marin Ireland as Julia Bowman, Shane McRae as Taylor Bowman, Libe Barer as Carly Bowman and Michael Drayer as Eddie Josipović. Although the show wrapped up six years ago, fans will be happy to know that they can watch the full series on Netflix. And it's no surprise considering how many positive reviews the show has got. Sneaky Pete has received a whopping 96% on critic site Rotten Tomatoes. Meanwhile others have rushed over to IMDB to share their positive views. 'A masterpiece.' 'Will keep you hooked!' 'Sneaky Pete is such an excellent and entertaining series! It's a show about cons, lies, deception, family, relationships, etc., etc. 'And tells it in such an amazing way that you can't wait to see the next episode! It was one of the best Amazon originals and got cancelled after 3 seasons for god knows why? Even though it ended it on a cliffhanger it's still definitely worth watching, it's not the kind of cliffhanger that will ruin the show for you. 'Once you start this amazing series you won't be able to stop watching it until you've binged the entire series so make sure you give yourself enough time to watch it. 'I promise you that it's worth every second!' 'Instantly Sucks YOU IN! Great Acting, Great Story, GREAT SHOW!' 'Excellent cast and script. Doesn't disappoint. 'Great choice for your next binge.' 'This is an excellent mystery, crime drama, con game series.' 'I'm really, really hoping for a 4th season. 'Loved every second of this and it left me wanting for more. 10 episodes was not enough.' 'A con artist hides from his past mistakes by posing as his former cellmate, deceiving a family that has no idea he's not the man they lost years ago,' Netflix's official synopsis reads. Sneaky Pete isn't the only show on Netflix that has got people talking recently. Earlier this week Stranger Things fans were left 'crying' as Netflix dropped a first trailer for the final series. The popular sci-fi show debuted in 2016 and follows a group of friends who tackle supernatural forces in Indiana. Now, a teaser for season five has been released by the streaming platform and it sent fans into a frenzy.

Like the Bosch spinoff ‘Ballard'? Then Watch These 3 Shows Right Now on Prime Video and More
The good news for fans of Maggie Q's new crime drama Ballard is that it's a hit out of the gate for Amazon Prime Video. That means this Bosch spinoff is probably going to get a second season. But since Prime Video dropped all 10 episodes at once, what are you going to watch when it's over? Fortunately, the Watch With Us team has you covered with three shows to watch if you liked Bosch. 20 Must-Watch TV Shows on Amazon Prime Video Right Now (July 2025) 'Long Bright River' (2025) is at the center of Long Bright River as Mickey Fitzpatrick, a police officer in Philadelphia. Mickey's been on the force a long time, but it's not really her place to be looking into the murders of three local women in the Kensington neighborhood. However, Mickey's interest in the case is more than just personal. Her sister, Kacey Fitzpatrick (Ashleigh Cummings), has gone missing, and trying to solve the murders may be her way of coping with that potential loss. This is one of Seyfried's best roles to date, and the show's central mystery will keep you as hooked as Ballard's case-of-the-week plots. Long Bright River is streaming on Peacock. 'Crossing Jordan' (2001 - 2007) Jill Hennessy made her name on Law & Order before NBC gave her a crime drama of her own. Crossing Jordan features Hennessy as Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh, a forensic pathologist who somewhat oversteps her role in order to help the police solve murder cases. 4 Must-Watch Thrillers on Peacock Right Now (July 2025) Before he became a leading actor, Mahershala Ali played one of Jordan's colleagues, Dr. Trey Sanders, in season 1. Jordan does have her own team of confidants to turn to for support, but one of the most prominent was Detective Woody Hoyt (Jerry O'Connell). NBC aired six seasons and 117 episodes of this show during its run, and it's ripe for a very long binge-watch. Crossing Jordan is streaming on Prime Video. 'Mare of Easttown' (2021) HBO's Mare of Easttown has an outstanding cast of supporting players, including Jean Smart, Guy Pearce, Evan Peters, Angourie Rice, Julianne Nicholson and Cailee Spaeny. But it's carried by an Emmy-winning performance by Kate Winslet as Marianne "Mare" Sheehan, a detective sergeant in Easttown, Pennsylvania. Mare is kind of a local celebrity thanks to her heroics in a high school basketball game 25 years ago. In the present, Mare has been unable to find a missing girl for over a year and the community has lost faith in her. Mare is also dealing with a nasty divorce, the death of her son and a custody battle for her young grandson, Drew, with the boy's mother, Carrie Layden (Sosie Bacon). That's enough pressure to crush anyone, but Mare still has a job to do. Mare of Easttown is streaming on HBO Max.

NBA news: Amazon Prime Video adds legendary TNT broadcaster to coverage
The post NBA news: Amazon Prime Video adds legendary TNT broadcaster to coverage appeared first on ClutchPoints. Kevin Harlan, one of the most recognizable voices in basketball broadcasting, is set to join Amazon Prime Video as part of its NBA coverage beginning with the 2025–26 season, according to a report from The Athletic. Advertisement Harlan has reportedly signed a three-year deal with the streaming service, marking a major addition as Amazon gears up for its first full season as an NBA media rights holder. The veteran broadcaster leaves Turner Sports after nearly three decades of NBA coverage. Harlan's final assignment for TNT came on May 31, when he called Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks. The broadcast marked the end of Turner Sports' run with NBA rights after nearly four decades. In addition to Harlan, Amazon has also added Brent Barry as a game analyst. Barry brings a multi-dimensional background, having spent 14 years as an NBA player before transitioning into broadcasting and front-office roles. Most recently, Barry served as an assistant coach with the Phoenix Suns during the 2024–25 season. Amazon Prime Video, NBC/Peacock, and ABC/ESPN begin a new 11-year, $76 billion media rights deal with the NBA this fall. The deal ends TNT's long-standing relationship with the league and introduces Amazon and NBC as new broadcast partners. Advertisement Amazon builds star-studded NBA team with Kevin Harlan, Ian Eagle, and top analysts Amazon has rapidly built out its on-air talent roster ahead of the 2025–26 season. The streamer previously hired Ian Eagle and Michael Grady as play-by-play announcers. Game analysts now include Blake Griffin, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Candace Parker, Stan Van Gundy, and Dwyane Wade. Cassidy Hubbarth will serve as the lead sideline reporter, while Taylor Rooks will host the studio show. The Athletic also reported that Amazon Prime Video holds rights to one of the NBA Conference Finals in 2027. Eagle is expected to be the lead play-by-play announcer for that series, though the network is not internally designating 'A' or 'B' announcer roles for the regular season due to the strength of its broadcast lineup. In a February appearance on The Sports Media Podcast, Harlan acknowledged the end of TNT's coverage and reflected on his future in broadcasting. Advertisement 'With TNT losing the rights, and it's very sad there, it clearly has made a sea change for most of us and navigating that is always a challenge,' Harlan said. 'I am in my 60s and to have someone with a bright new shiny opportunity for someone at my stage of this career, which is dominated by younger broadcasters and incredibly talented people, to have them want me to join their roster is humbling and incredibly gratifying.' Harlan will continue his NFL broadcasting duties with CBS Sports. He noted that it was essential for him to ensure that CBS supported any new arrangements he made involving NBA coverage. The addition of Harlan further solidifies Amazon's commitment to assembling a high-caliber team as it enters a new era of NBA broadcasting.
